Backflip Animation
I did a animation of the rig doing a backflip. I learnt that during animation, you can use key poses for different body parts, rather than having all body parts in a position for specific key frames. This gives a more fluid looking animation. For example: the torso could be animated on key frame 1-10, where the arms may be on 1-5-10. This may seem like something obvious, but as someone self teaching, its something ive only really just learnt.
Leap frog to sit animation
Using a video refference from youtube, I animated this. It took about 2h, got some feedback from an animation discord server who suggested the air time was a bit too long, and the walk up was a bit too short making it a bit jaring. Although I didnt make these changes, I will take them into consideration going forwards.
1s Dance
This Dance animation took me 45 mins. I don’t think its all that good either, and I probably should have chosen a simpler dance to start with. But I did it to experiment with more dynamic movement, rather than run cycles etc. My biggest challenge in this was ensuring the feet stayed grounded, and didnt move around on the floor which I think I was partially successful at, but with it being my first time moving a character in an animation, its bound to have errors.
Character Animation Body Mechanics
Learning how to do basic to intermediate character animations, having never done character animations on rigs.
